Divine Election in the New Testament

election

Perhaps one of the most controversial discussions within the church is whether or not God is fully sovereign over those who will come to Him for salvation. Some claim it is fully based on man’s free will. Others say salvation is entirely grounded on God’s eternal predestination. This topic as old as the church is not salvific, but it is one that serves as an indispensable platform for much of our theology.

Though you doubtless know where I and the church stand on this issue, I thought it would be a good idea in this blog post to share the many verses that support our position. As a believer, you are welcome to disagree, but please refrain from doing so until you are able to offer an explanation for the following verses from Scripture.
